In recent centuries Biblical research has dealt mainly with historical texts and rarely with the history of interpretation.
The European context lacks a work of exegesis of the historical reception which broadens the aim of its investigation to an extended period of time.
The Bible and Women, established by an international, interfaith and interdisciplinary research, joins scholars of Christian and Jewish culture, belonging to the four areas of scientific languages (Italian, German, English and Spanish).

Negli ultimi secoli la ricerca biblica si è occupata prevalentemente dell'origine storica dei testi e raramente della storia della interpretazione. A tutt'oggi manca, nel contesto europeo, un'opera di esegesi e di storia della ricezione che allarghi il proprio campo di indagine ad un esteso arco temporale, che includa anche le questioni di genere normalmente trascurate da una prevaricante lettura androcentrica.
La collana La Bibbia e le Donne nasce da un progetto internazionale, interconfessionale e multidisciplinare che si avvale della competenza di studiose e studiosi di cultura cristiana ed ebraica, appartenenti alle tradizioni scientifiche di quattro aree linguistiche (italiana, tedesca, inglese e spagnola). La Bibbia e la sua storia di ricezione sono analizzate relativamente al rapporto delle Donne con il Testo sacro.

El congreso ofrece un marco de análisis y reflexión sobre el papel de las mujeres en algunos textos antiguos desde la perspectiva de los estudios de las mujeres, feministas y de género: textos de las sagradas escrituras de las tres religiones, textos profanos: griegos, latinos, y textos medievales, renacentistas y barrocos europeos.
El congreso hace suyo un enfoque múltiple, interdisciplinar, interreligioso y profano, que desde diferentes disciplinas (arte, filología, filosofía, historia, arqueología, sociología, antropología cultural, etc.) proponen una relectura del papel de las mujeres en los orígenes y etapas cruciales de la formación de nuestra cultura europea. Una reflexión sobre la narración de la historia y su reescritura a la luz de los estudios de los estudios de las mujeres, feministas y de género.
